About this initiative
Zurich has plenty of rooftops and courtyards but few pollinator habitats. This initiative installs beehives on three city rooftops, plants wildflower strips in nearby courtyards and schoolyards, and runs beekeeping workshops that bring school classes up to the hives.

Verein Summstadt Zürich
Verein Summstadt Zürich is a young Zurich association of hobby and professional beekeepers. It sets up and tends rooftop hives across the city, plants pollinator-friendly greenery around them, and opens the hives to schools and neighbours through guided workshops.
